Upcycling idea: Use the alkmene® Intensive Cream tub as a herb pot
Would you like to grow your own little herb garden at home but you do not have a garden or a balcony? No problem! You can put small, decorative herb pots in your kitchen. And you don't even have to make a trip to the garden centre.
- 1 alkmene® Organic Olive Intensive Cream
- 1 battery-powered drill or screwdriver
- Approx. 1-2 handfuls of earth
- 1 pack of plant seeds, e.g. cress
- A 3-4 cm piece of wood as a base
- 1 pair of scissors
- 1 permanent marker
- 1 printer
- 1 glue stick
Wash the alkmene® Organic Olive Intensive Cream tub thoroughly with soap and dry.
Drill around 4 holes in the bottom of the tub. To do this, it is a good idea to put the tub on a board or a wooden block that is around 3 to 4 centimetres thick so the drill/screwdriver does not damage the surface.
Print out the label to write on:
Use a waterproof pen to write the name of the herbs on the label that you wish to plant. Cut out the label and glue it to the tub. Allow the glue to dry for around 15 minutes, depending on the glue.
Fill about three quarters of the tub with earth, add the seeds and push these gently into the earth.
Place the lid on a surface with the inside facing up and put the herb pot inside. Pour a little water on the seeds in the tub. The holes in the bottom of the tub allow excess water to drain into the lid.
