How does tea tree oil help against spots?
Thanks to its antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, tea tree oil is known as a problem solver for blemished skin.
Blemished skin, such as pimples or pustules, is often caused by so-called hyperkeratosis. This means that the skin hardens or keratinises too much. This can block the sebaceous glands because the sebum (the oily secretion of the skin) can no longer drain properly. This results in blackheads, also known as comedones.
The sebum that builds up provides a good habitat for bacteria. These bacteria can then cause inflammation. Tea tree oil helps to combat these bacteria. This reduces the inflammation and the skin can calm down.

How does zinc PCA affect the skin?
Zinc PCA is a compound of zinc and a substance called PCA. It is often used in skin care to make the skin look clearer and more even.
Zinc ensures that large pores shrink and the skin produces less sebum (oily skin secretions). This allows minor skin impurities to dry out and the skin’s appearance becomes finer and more beautiful.
PCA also protects the skin from drying out. It can bind water in the skin and thus helps to moisturise the skin.
